Dear Nader

Thank you for your interest in the Department of Food Science and
Agricultural Chemistry.  McGill is an international university whose
main language of instruction is English.

All application information and procedures as well as the application
itself is available to be filled out online at the website below.

http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/graduate

Upon correct completion of any application to graduate studies at
McGill
University, it asks for a credit card number and $80,00 is charged at
this point.  Only credit cards may be used to cover the cost of an
application.

The following documents are required for consideration of any
application. (Note: TOEFL/IELTS scores are required for all
international and permanent resident students unless they can provide
proof of being total educated in English during their B.Sc.

Required documents

Transcripts: Applicants are responsible for ensuring that two (2)
official transcripts or certified copies of their complete
university-level academic record are sent to McGill by all universities
previously attended. Transcripts in languages other than English or
French must be accompanied by an English or French translation provided
by the institution issuing the transcript or by a certified translator.

Letters of recommendation: Applicants are required to ask two
instructors familiar with their work to send letters of recommendation
on letterhead with original signatures.

Test scores: If required, test scores must be less than 2 years old and
received directly from the testing agency.

Please note that all documents submitted to McGill University in
support
of an application to be admitted, including, but not limited to
transcripts, diplomas, letters of reference and test scores, become the
property of McGill University and will not be returned to the applicant
or forwarded to another institution under any circumstance.

ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ABOVE should be sent to the following address:

McGill University, Macdonald Campus
Dept. of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry
Macdonald Stewart Bldg. MS 1-034
21,111 Lakeshore Dr.
St. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec
Canada, H9V 3X9

Please note, it is extremely IMPORTANT to have McGill University,
Macdonald Campus, Dept. of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry and
Macdonald Stewart Bldg. in the address as documents often get lost
without this information.
The minimum requirement for entry into our M.Sc. program is a 3.0 B.Sc.
cumulative GPA and a 3.2 GPA for the last two years of B.Sc. study.

The minimum requirement for entry into our Ph.D. program is a 3.4 M.Sc.
cumulative GPA and a 3.2 GPA for the last two years of B.Sc. study.

For international students, the deadline for applying to the Winter
2008
Session is July 1, 2007 and all documents must be received by our
department by July 31, 2007.

For Canadian and permanent resident students, the deadline for applying
to the Fall 200 Session is June 1, 2007 and all documents must be
received by our department by June 15, 2007.

Unfortunately the department can provide no financial assistance to our
graduate students, therefore in order to study here at McGill
University
you must be self funded. The yearly cost of living here is about
$25,000
to $30,000 Canadian. The chance of being admitted without being
completely self-funded is minimal at best.

This department is not able to help you to arrange financial aid or
Student Loans.

These problems are best addressed with our Student Services department.
Below is the financial aid website of Student Services. They can also
make you aware of any scholarship that are available.

All further enquiries on this matter should be addressed to them.

Once all documents have been received, your file will be processed and
evaluated.  You will receive an answer in due course.

You can find more information on the department and the research we do
as well as our graduate programs at the following website:
